Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a field of study that evolved out of the research of two individuals: Richard Bandler and John Grinder. Richard Bandler was a student, interested in the study of computers and Gestalt theory; John Grinder was a professor of Linguistics. They asked themselves why there were differences in the results for some psychologists vs others. They decided to study, map, and decode the patterns of behavior and language in some of the greatest psychologists. They studied Drs. Milton Erickson (hypnotherapy), Virgina Satir, and Fritz Perls. From their years of study and practice, Bandler and Grinder developed a set of tools, often referred to as NLP techniques, designed to give the practitioner the capability to “re-map” beliefs and behaviors. These tools are simple, powerfully effective, and give you, the student, the tools to take charge of your life and realize your greatest goals.
In simple terms – Neuro represents your neurology, including all your senses. Linguistic includes all our verbal and nonverbal communication. And Programming relates to all the ways we use subconscious programs to run our neurological systems and achieve outcomes.
In this Ti-Tv series, we present NLP techniques that allow you to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve your goals. You will, in effect, be able to change your life without the use of willpower. You will work in cooperation with your neurology to change your life, not in domination of it.
