i have a question re this: we are often told that a person can only be hypnotized if they want to be. so they are giving their consent. but it looks to me like once the person has given this consent and entered hypnosis, they can no longer at any given moment withdraw that consent. for example, when the person doesnt believe they are even hypnotized, that isnt because they've given their consent to not think theyre hypnotized, right? theyre inside that reality, being guided by the hypnotist. also say when you put that girl to sleep at the end, could she just have resisted and not slept? and if not, then she wasnt at that moment giving her consent. right?

What did you take away from them? Their bellybuttons? Oh well, as far as i have experienced for myself there is hardly anything that can't be achieved using hypnosis, as long as the people, which are being hypnotized, are ready to do it. Because i know how hypnosis works it looks very simple but i am sure that hypnotizing people is not easy, especially when the hypnotist in not very experienced which obviously doesn't apply to you. I did not understand why the girl you interviewed tought that she wasn't hypnotized. In my experience i can easily check if i am in Hypnosis. I need to know because i often hypnotize myself, which means that i do all the induction, the deepeners, that suggestions and so on, myself. If i were unsure i would just give myself the suggestions that helium-balloons are pulling my arm up (effortlessly without concious use of my muscles) or i would use a katalepsis. If this works it is a clear proof that i am in hypnosis.

V funny. The art is partly the mystery, but also making the best of it. I've been hypnotised many times, but I can never imagine myself being so deeply under that I would deny reality.
