Performing street hypnosis at my alma mater the University of New Hampshire. I never know who I am going to become when I hypnotize people to think I am their favorite celebrity – this time around it was A$ AP Rocky! It’s always fun to turn it right around and let them become their idol immediately after meeting that person – such a neat distinction between the two hallucinations. 🙂

Here is a great clip from a stage hypnosis show I did for Alpha Xi Delta at my alma mater the University of New Hampshire during their homecoming weekend earlier this year. Hypnotizing people to think that I am invisible is always so much fun and the reactions always get crazy when I start moving objects around the room to make it look like they are moving/floating on their own. This one ended up being shorter than usual because as you can see in the video someone was so scared to see a chair floating that they just left the stage! Next time I do this I’m going to add a suggestion that there is an invisible wall around the stage so that they won’t be able to leave to see what happens. 🙂

What happens when college students are hypnotized to think that they have suddenly become the most ripped and jacked bodybuilders in the world and yet can’t lift a simple chair off the ground?
This was a brand new routine I was testing out for the very first time to see how it would go and it went so well that it’s definitely something that I’ll be doing again for sure.

Hypnosis is a state of human consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness and an enhanced capacity for response to suggestion. Theories explaining what occurs during hypnosis fall into two groups. Altered state theories see hypnosis as an altered state of mind or trance, marked by a level of awareness different from the ordinary conscious state. During hypnosis, a person is said to have heightened focus and concentration. The person can concentrate intensely on a specific thought or memory, while blocking out sources of distraction. Hypnotised subjects are said to show an increased response to suggestions.[8] Hypnosis is usually induced by a procedure known as a hypnotic induction involving a series of preliminary instructions and suggestions. The use of hypnotism for therapeutic purposes is referred to as “hypnotherapy”, while its use as a form of entertainment for an audience is known as “stage hypnosis”.
